Yemeni army snipers killed 10 Saudi troops in a retaliatory operation in the kingdom’s southwestern border region of Jizan. AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Yemeni army snipers killed 10 Saudi troops in a retaliatory operation in the kingdom’s southwestern border region of Jizan.
The Yemeni army's sniper unit, supported by fighters from allied Popular Committees, launched an attack against Saudi positions in the districts of Heiran and Jabal al-Nar, hunting down ten troops, Saba news agency reported.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi’s government back to power and crushing the country’s Houthi Ansarullah movement.
According to a recent UN report, the combined death toll from the Saudi-led aggression and disease is 233,000, or 0.8 percent of Yemen's 30 million-strong population.
