AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Two Bahrainis were slapped with three-year prison sentences on Thursday for setting a sofa chair on fire.
The pair was accused of ‘putting people’s lives at risk’ in what authorities say was an act of protest against the execution of Ali al-Arab and Ahmed al-Malali.
Al-Arab and Al-Malali were put to death by firing squad in July of this year.
According to activists, the two men were severely tortured ahead of their sentencing and coerced into signing confessions.
The executions sparked a wave of global condemnation and protests across Bahrain.
