Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi met on Monday with the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths. AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi met on Monday with the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.
During the meeting, Sayyed Abdulmalik affirmed that the options of aggression, military and economic siege, cannot create peace in in Yemen or in the region.
"It is important to stop the aggression in a comprehensive manner, end the siege completely and conduct urgent humanitarian treatments at various levels", Sayyed Abdulmalik said. In particular, he called for urgent humanitarian treatment of war prisoners and detainees. He, also, reminded Griffiths of several initiatives under which hundreds of prisoners were released with the aim of making some progress leading to the release of all detainees and prisoners.
Sayyed Abdulmalik called on the United Nations to move in addressing political solutions, stop the war and end the siege, pointing out that dumping in internal details by the United Nations leads to further congestion of the situation and the continuation of escalation and contrary to its role. He stressed that a comprehensive peace and a just solution is the most right option to address all imbalances, including the presence of foreign forces.
