LEADER'S TOP AIDE: IRAN-IRAQ UNITY TARGETED BY US, ISRAEL

Iranian Supreme Leader's top aide for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati warned that Washington and Tel Aviv are collaborating to implement plots against unity and friendship of Iran and Iraq.
"Unity of the two nations and their commonalities is a wealth which cannot be bought by money and this is while the US and the Zionist regime are attempting to take this capital from both nations," Velayati said in a meeting with a delegation of the Iraqi tribal leaders in Tehran on Monday.
He stressed that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has seriously emphasized the necessity for maintaining Iraq's unity and solidarity.
Elsewhere, Velayati referred to the anti-terrorism cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and said, "If such cooperation didn’t exist, Iraq would become disintegrated by the enemies' ominous plots or would be controlled by the terrorists."
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that the Islamic Republic will keep on backing the government of Iraq and Syria against the terrorist groups.
"Undoubtedly, Iran enjoys the most influence in the region," President Rouahni said, addressing a group of Iranian expatriates in the Indian city of Hyderabad.
"We will continue out support for Iraq and Syria," the Iranian president added.
