AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi underlined that his country will never start war but its Armed Forces are fully prepared to give a crushing response to the aggressors.
Iran has a clear message to the world that "we will never attack a country but we will give a resolute response to any aggression" Masjedi said in a meeting Iraqi religious figure Ayatollah Seyyed Hossein Sadr on Wednesday.
"I have conveyed Iran’s message to European and western states’ envoys during meetings with them at Iran’s embassy,” he said.
In relevant remarks earlier this month, Masjedi warned that any stupid measure by Washington would have disastrous consequences for them.
"Any stupid measure by the US will undoubtedly bring regret and failure for them," Masjedi said in a meeting with Head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan in Iraq Abdul Latif al-Hamim in Baghdad.
He added that the Islamic countries enjoyed all power components against the world arrogance, and unity among the Muslim nations should be emphasized to materialize this power.
Al-Hamim, for his part, described the US sanctions against Iran as inhumane and cruel, warning that the recent US military moves threatens all regional states, including its allies.
"The Iraqi people will stand beside the Islamic Republic of Iran against threats," he underlined.
