Iran condemns terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka

Iranian Foreign Ministry vehemently slammed the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, saying today’s crime once again indicated that regardless of any border, race, nation and religion, the hateful terrorism phenomenon has turned out to be a global problem.

Seyyed Abbas Mousavi condemned the Sunday terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka capital, especially on Churches, and sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims of the attack as well as Sri Lankan government and people.
He added that terrorism will be just uprooted by the firm determination of all countries and by taking advantage of all capacities and without dual approaches.
Earlier on Sunday six consecutive blasts rocked various cities in Sri Lanka.
The explosions happened simultaneously in three churches and three hotels in Colombo claiming the lives of at least 156 people and injuring over 400 others.
According to Sri Lanka Police some explosions happened in some other luxury hotels in Sri Lanka.
Police announced that it had earlier warned on the possibility of the attack.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe called for holding national Security Council extraordinary meeting.
