Federation of Pakistan’s Shia Muslim religious seminaries aka Wifaqul Madaris al-Shia hosted special programmes to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Pakistan’s independence and main programme was held in Jamiatul Muntazir in Lahore.
The students and teachers began the celebrations with recitation from holy Quran, Naat and Qasida and also read national anthem loudly in chorus. Then they sang national songs.
They prayed for prosperity of their motherland Pakistan. They recited fateha for the victims of terrorism and expressed solidarity with the martyrs and their heirs.
Maulana Aijaz Hussain Hyderi, Maulana Mehdi Hassan and other Shia Muslim religious scholars spoke on the occasion. They told the audience that Pakistan came into being due to unwavering struggle under dynamic leadership of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, himself a Shia Muslim. They said that Pakistan is a divine blessing and its ideology is based on Islam.
They said its Islamic identity has come under threat due to plots of secular lobby and also by intolerant sectarian fanatics and violent extremists and both extremists whether they are religious or secular, should be discouraged and be countered for the sake of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
