AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Bahrain’s Public Prosecution extended the detention of female detainee, Hadeer Abadi, refusing a request to place her under house arrest.
Bahraini rights campaigner Ebtisam al-Saegh reported on Monday that Abadi had been remanded in custody by a further 30 days – the fifth such extension since her arrest in January.
Her prolonged incarceration comes despite claims by activists that the state is yet to formally charge Abadi with any wrongdoing.
The 25-year-old was detained after being summoned for questioning earlier in the year.
Shortly after her arrest, Bahraini activist Enas Oun reported that Abadi is being detained without proper cause.
