As many as 20 Pakistanis were deported by Saudi authorities and out of them two were taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for leaving the country illegally. They had arrived at the Islamabad International Airport.
It is relevant to add here that Pakistanis who went to Saudi Kingdom legally have been facing multiple problems because the Saudi employers consider them cheap labour and deny them their legal rights and render them unemployed on false charges or excuses to avoid payment of their dues/ monetary benefits.
Many Pakistanis were denied payment of their salaries and when they raised voice for their legal rights they were put behind the bars to languish in Saudi jails.
A senior FIA official said the 20 Pakistanis were arrested by the Saudi authorities for staying in the kingdom illegally and were sent back amid tight security on a scheduled flight on Saturday.
After the verification process, 18 of the deportees were allowed to go home and two were taken to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for legal proceedings as the Pakistani authorities did not have their travel records.
