Afghan President visits victims of Shia mosque attack in hospital

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has visited those injured in a suicide attack on a Shia mosque in eastern Nangarhar province at the Sardar Daud Khan Hospital in Kabul, a statement said Sunday.
AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has visited those injured in a suicide attack on a Shia mosque in eastern Nangarhar province at the Sardar Daud Khan Hospital in Kabul, a statement said Sunday.
The doctors and officials of the hospital briefed the president about the health condition of the injured, his office said.
Ghani wished speedy recovery to the injured and said he had expressed his heart-felt condolences to the victims’ families over the telephone and had assured them of rebuilding the mosque.
According to the statement, the president ordered the hospital officials to provide adequate treatment and take serious care of the injured.
At least 34 people were killed and another 94 injured on Friday when a suicide bomber struck the mosque in Gardez, the provincial capital.
