Hezbollah’s second-in-command Sheikh Naim Qassem reiterated the movement’s unwavering policy to defend Lebanon against foreign threats and said the Hezbollah fighters are fully prepared for any scenario and possible enemy attack.
AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hezbollah’s second-in-command Sheikh Naim Qassem reiterated the movement’s unwavering policy to defend Lebanon against foreign threats and said the Hezbollah fighters are fully prepared for any scenario and possible enemy attack.
“Today we have only two options: resisting and defending our soil and political positions or surrendering and abandoning our territory…,” Sheikh Qassem said during a speech in the Lebanese city of Nabatieh.
“Hezbollah has chosen the resistance,” the cleric said, adding, “We have achieved tremendous gains with resistance.”
“We will continue to increase our power and maintain our readiness to deal with any possibility,” he stressed.
Sheikh Qassem went on to say that everyone should be aware that Hezbollah is used to resistance, not humiliation.
On December 1, 2018, Hezbollah released a video, warning that if the Israeli regime makes any act of aggression against the Arab country, it would regret it.
The Israeli regime launched two wars on Lebanon in 2000 and 2006. About 1,200 Lebanese, most of them civilians, were killed in the 33-Day War of 2006.
On both occasions, however, Hezbollah fighters defeated the Israeli forces and Tel Aviv was forced to retreat without achieving any of its objectives.
The conflict in 2006, also known as the July War, took place in Lebanon, northern parts of Occupied Palestine and the Golan Heights.
It started in July 2006, and continued until a United Nations-brokered ceasefire went into effect in the morning on August 14 that year, though it formally ended on September 8 when Israel lifted its naval blockade of Lebanon.
