Shia Ulema Council head Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi has said that opening of Kartarpur corridor between Pakistan and India augurs well but Indian government needs to respond to Pakistan’s sincere goodwill gestures positively.
“We support talks between Pakistan and India for peace but there must be no compromise on the national prestige and Kashmir issue,” he said, talking to delegates who called on him at his office in Rawalpindi.
Allama Naqvi said that Pakistan always extended hand for peace but India demonstrated stubbornness hence the latter should mend ways and play positive role in the region by bringing an end to atrocities India is committing in occupied Kashmir. He lamented that more than 24 Kashmiris were killed and many others were injured in Indian attacks in held-Kashmir.
The veteran Shia scholar and leader urged Pakistan government to use diplomatic channels for bringing a positive change in the stubbornness of Indian government because peace between two major neighbouring countries of South Asia is imperative for peace in the entire region.
